Sustainability and Improving Our Environment
Improving our environment both locally and globally is vitally important to Veritas. It’s a key component in the company's commitment to Bay Area communities and the health of our planet.
In that spirit, Veritas formed a wholly owned subsidiary – SF GoGreen – to better focus on eco-friendly, sustainability initiatives. The following are just a few of the things we’re implementing.
Solar Power
Veritas is the largest deployer of solar-generated electricity among multifamily property owners in San Francisco. Particularly when paired with charging-station/energy-storage systems that are installed in garages for electric vehicles, solar power reduces utility costs for residents, while providing a renewable source of clean energy.
Energy Efficient Appliances and Fixtures
Wherever possible we install the latest in high-efficiency appliances, low-flow bathroom fixtures, and LED lighting to save money and energy. Today’s washers, for example, use about 25% less energy and 40% less water than washers made just ten years ago.
On-Site Zipcars and Scoots
Veritas features San Francisco's largest fleet of Zipcars, the fast-growing car-sharing service, and also Scoots, electric mopeds and mini cars. These services provide a money-saving convenience that enables them to get around town without the cost of owning and insuring a vehicle. It also reduces overall automobile usage and lowers emissions.
